Concept: Fighting Poverty Through Education

We were in Tanzania for a filming a safari experience project. After filming, we were leaving Tanzania the next morning. The company who had taken us into the parks asked if we wanted to see the children’s home they help keep running. We said yes. We stayed.

What we found was not a pitch and not a tragedy arranged for camera. It was a house with a rhythm: meals, play, dancing, waiting, the real people who hold the place together and bring safe to the childs. We filmed what we saw, without staging anything, on the last hours we had, hoping the pictures would send someone else toward the gate and help supporting this cause.

A small documentary from a travel shoot that refused to end at the game drive.

Our Input

The crew was already on the ground from the safari job. We used what we had: a short window, no extra kit run, no lighting plot. Improvised coverage of the home, the people who run it, the day as it happened.

Led by Thony Kamargo (@nythoes), Kamargo Production House cut a compact documentary from that one visit, observational, fast.

A documentary and tourism video crew that can turn a real stop and people into film: safari, destination, and the stories travel companies and agencies ask for when the itinerary is only half the picture.
